The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, visited on Thursday the neighborhood of Monelos in Cordoba to meet with its promoters the rehabilitation project of Tower 6, which reached a subsidy of 976,000 euros from the funds of the Recovery Plan.
In an event also attended by the president of the County Council of A Coruña, Valentín González Formoso, the delegate valued the joint work carried out by the neighbors, represented by Lito Lorenzo; the Arual administration, by Laura Marín, and the technical architect in charge of the project, Javier Martínez, for the achievement of this subsidy that will improve the energy efficiency of this building, of 14 plants and 56 homes located at number 6 of the avenue of Monelos.
The neighborhood community of this social housing building got 100% of the help they had requested to improve the building’s envelope. The Xunta is the one that grants this subsidy, as the Administration responsible for managing the funds of the Recovery Plan transferred by the Government for energy rehabilitation of homes, of 173 million euros.
With the subsidy achieved, the neighborhood community will undertake the thermal insulation works of the four facades with a SATE (Outdoor Thermal Insulation System) solution, which combines the use of thermal insulation material with a decorative finish coating. Along with this, the exterior carpentry offices will be replaced (some of the windows are wooden), the fiber cement cover will be removed with asbestos and all water evacuation systems and the baixants, in which asbestos is also present, will be replaced by others of PVC. These actions will contribute to making the building more watertight and therefore do not allow the entry of cold in winter or the loss of energy.
