The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, presided today the Xunta of Security for the preparation of the security device on the occasion of the passage through the province of the cycling test “El gran Camino”. In addition to the organizers, representatives of the Civil Guard, the Provincial Traffic Headquarters, the Lucense Federation of AVPC, the Fire Consortium of Chantada, as well as the town councils through which the race passes and their local police participated in the meeting.
The Camino de Lugo, the second stage of the competition between Taboada and Chantada, will be held on February 23, passing specifically through the municipalities of Monterroso, Palas, de Rei, Guntín, Portomarín, Paradela, Taboada, O Saviñao and Chantada.
Isabel Rodríguez asked the citizens to inform themselves of the schedules and itineraries of the test, as well as the possible alternatives. He also appealed to all the public who will gather to witness the passage of cyclists through the province in order to respect the signage and attend to the indications of the organization and the safety device of the test.
Travel
In the second stage of “Lo Gran Camino” as it passes through Lugo, cyclists will travel a total of 151.20 kilometers, passing through the roads LU-212, N-547, LU-633, LU-P-4201, LU-P-4205, LU-P-5818, LU-P-4202, LU-611, LU-P-1804, LU-P-1801, LU-533, LU-P-1807, LU-P-1805, LU-P-1002, LU-213 and 540.
The route begins in San Martiño de Couto and some of the hardest points at a sports level through which it will pass are the Alto de Paradela, the Alto de Sonan or the Alto de San Pedro de Líncora, with an average slope that is around 6% and with an elevation that goes from 129 to 321 meters.
