The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, reviewed in Fitur with the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, and with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosana Morillo, the investments and lines of action of the Government of Spain in different aspects related to the tourism sector of Galicia. Pedro Blanco acknowledged the commitment of the new minister to continue promoting the modernization of tourism and the business fabric associated with this activity, to advance in its digitalization, in its sustainability and in competitiveness before other international destinations.
At the meeting, the delegate conveyed to the minister the impact in Galicia that the lines of aid and investments of the Government of Spain are having in relation to tourism and the heritage of tourist use. He highlighted the search for added value to the tourist resources of Galicia and the commitment to seasonalization, the improvement of the historical heritage, the sustainable use of natural resources, and oenogastronomical tourism, protagonist of several of the Tourism Sustainability Plans that are in progress and that had space in the current edition of Fitur.
They also addressed the good prospects of the sector for this year, after the results achieved in 2023 and which represented the definitive overcoming of the effect of the COVID pandemic on the tourism sector. At the meeting, Pedro Blanco invited the minister to get to know about the territory different actions and investments of the Government in Galicia.
The delegate held this meeting at the stand that Turespaña has at the International Tourism Fair, during the second day of this fair. On this day Pedro Blanco developed an intense agenda of support for Galician tourism. The delegate supported the presentation of tourism promotion campaigns of Galician localities, communities and geodestinations of Galicia, many of them framed in the Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Industry.
