SEPES, a public land business entity attached to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda (MIVAU), has closed the sale of two plots, totalling 13,635 m2, in the Curtis-Teixeiro Industrial Estate to the company In Proteins For All, a startup of Sevillian origin dedicated to the vegetable protein industry.
The operation, which has been closed for an amount of 519,000 euros, will allow the construction of the first integral plant of vegetable protein production in Spain, to globally supply products and ingredients of vegetable origin of high quality and sustainable to the entire agri-food industry. Overall, the company plans an investment of almost 17 million euros in the area, as well as the generation of a direct job for at least 25 people.
The factory will have a hybrid production system, which combines the dry extraction of 50% concentrated proteins from seeds or flours of legumes with a subsequent wet system that transforms the concentrated proteins into isolated and purified proteins and functional proteins.
Curtis Teixeiro industrial park
The sale of these two new plots to In Proteins For all is in addition to the projects already implemented in the Curtis industrial estate, such as dairy processing companies and, more recently, the biomass company of Greenalia, which generates hundreds of jobs in the area. In total, the Curtis Teixeiro Industrial Park has 252,955 m2 distributed among 28 industrial plots, including those awarded, and a plot for commercial uses.
In addition to this performance, SEPES has already developed 23 logistics and industrial parks in Galicia with more than 9.5 million square meters. Currently, it has about 700,000 square meters in marketing in 10 performances. In addition, it has a share of 83.44% in the SEA Society, which has developed 12 other parks and is an important driving force for attracting investment to the region.
Living and working spaces
The objective of SEPES, through the management of public land, is to improve the quality of life of citizens by transforming square meters of public land into habitable places where people can undertake, live and work with dignity. To this end, in addition to its activity focused on the socio-economic promotion of the entire territory, SEPES also works to promote access to housing and support territorial balance as a fundamental tool of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda.
Currently, it has about 5.6 million square meters of land for industrial, logistical and commercial uses in marketing and about 25 million additional m² in development.
Through this sale, within its role as a fundamental tool of the State for the generation of business fabric and employment, SEPES continues to promote the development of spaces for business uses, reactivating the soil to promote economic development throughout the Spanish territory.
