The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, encourages the 16 municipalities that belong to the Fair Transition Agreements of the province of A Coruña to present their new projects to the line of aid of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, which will open in the coming days. This call for Miteco is endowed with 25 million euros, which will be aimed at improving the provision of social services, ecological transition and entrepreneurship in areas affected by the closure of the Meirama and As Pontes thermal power plants.
The grants, which will be resolved through the system of competitive competition, are aimed at projects in real estate, public spaces and public property. They will allow the rehabilitation and transformation for new uses of goods, spaces and lands of public ownership that reinforce the social, environmental and digital component of these spaces or help the creation of new ones.
María Rivas held a meeting with the Agent of the Territory in Fair Transition Agreements, Nuria Álvarez Llamas, in which they reviewed the data of the previous call; in this regard they inform that in the first call for this aid, the province of A Coruña received from Miteco a total of 11,353,313.50 euros, which were distributed among the 14 projects presented by 11 of the 16 municipalities within the Fair Transition Agreements of the province.
This new call responds to the need to support the municipalities, focusing on the smallest ones, to improve their services and infrastructures and thus curb the loss of population in the rural, the final objective of the same is to guarantee equal access to quality services for all and all its inhabitants.
These grants help to promote the quality of life in these municipalities through the improvement of social, cultural, green infrastructure and entrepreneurial services, and helped to establish population in these territories, highlighting projects that have a strong social component, and that cover the previously detected needs of the area.
