Xinzo de Limia (Ourense), January 8, 2024.- The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, and the mayor of Xinzo de Limia, Amador Díaz, co-chaired this morning the meeting of the Local Security Board in which an analysis of citizen security was carried out and was studied the measures of the Carnival self-protection plan given the relevance, declared of international tourist interest, and the proximity of this festivity being the Carnival at the earliest.
Regarding the citizen security, Emilio González noted that "the crime rate in Xinzo de Limia remains within normal levels." González valued the "collaboration and coordination in the actions" of both the local police and the Civil Guard and highlighted the work of the State security forces and bodies since thanks to their work they made possible the considerable increase in the clarification of crimes this year.
Regarding the Master Plan for Improvement of Coexistence and Security in Educational Centers and their environment, in the city of Xinzo de Limia, the IES City of Antioquia requested to enter the program.
Carnival
Regarding the Carnival, the subdelegate asked for maximum collaboration with other administrations, especially the Xunta de Galicia, with the regional police; as well as citizen collaboration for the correct development of these holidays given the large crowds that are expected.
For more security and information, different mobile Violet Points will be installed throughout the municipality and reinforced with the use of drones.
For his part, the mayor, Amador Díaz, explained the measures of the "self-protection plan" carried out by the City Council and the security forces and which will extend from the "petardazo" to the days of carnival.
This will be the first of the Security Boards to be chaired by the subdelegate this week. In the coming days it will be held in Verín covering and analyzing the protection measures that will be carried out in the large localities of the Carnival.
