The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, participated today in the delivery of the 25 cibexpert@ cards to the students of 6th grade of primary school of the Divine Master school. The subdelegate stressed the importance of children knowing how to use new technologies and knowing tools to protect themselves in the network.
Isabel Rodríguez was accompanied by the police trainer, Rubén Darío Veiga; the director of the center, José Luis García; and the orientative, Mónica González, thanking the efforts of the students and students to complete the program developed by the National Police to provide training to students on the safe use of the Internet, which involves access to social networks or addictions on the Internet, among other topics.
“With this training plan, all students learn to use social networks and control the dangers of these, as well as the way of acting that they must adopt in cases that show an improper use of ICT. I thank the National Police Force for action in this school, which notes that this type of support for students is increasingly necessary, since in these times we are seeing the bad uses of technology in minors, and that often goes unnoticed by families” explained the deputy delegate.
These students are part of the first batch of boys and girls who received their Cyberexpert@ card in this course 2023/2024, and it is expected that more schoolchildren will receive these cards that certify them to carry out a training focused on detecting the dangers of the network and acting correctly, ending with a final test of knowledge. The program addressed with experts from the National Police cyberbullying, digital addictions, identity theft, access to inappropriate content, privacy management or parental mediation.
In this regard, the Government is committed to the use of new secure technologies and the digitization of classrooms in the province, so the school also reached a grant of 19,514.88 euros to advance the digitization process, acquiring interactive screens and new computer equipment in 7 classrooms of the center thanks to funding from the EU Next Generation funds and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
