The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, met today in Vigo with the president of ARVI, Javier Touza, with whom he supervised the different projects promoted by the organization with state funding and analyzed the challenges and potentialities of the Vigués fishing sector.
During the visit, he was accompanied by the national deputies, José Ramón Gómez Besteiro and David Regades. Pedro Blanco stressed the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the Galician fishing sector “to ensure the future of a fundamental activity in the economic and social development of Galicia”. He stressed that the Government “will redouble its efforts during this legislature to continue leading, together with the minister, Luis Planas, the support to the sector, exemplified in the more than 2 million euros of aid to the Cooperativa de Armadores de Vigo (ARVI), for the implementation of pioneering projects of innovation, technological development and improvement of energy efficiency, which are a reality thanks to the Government Recovery Plan.
