The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, stressed in the Pontenova the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez for the improvement of municipal services with more than 47 million euros to condition and improve the energy efficiency of public buildings through the PIREP Program. In the second call to opt for these funds included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, more than 20 million euros were awarded to 13 Galician municipalities, which add to the 34 beneficiaries in the first line.
“The government funds continue to reach the municipalities, proof of our will and commitment to the municipality through the rehabilitation of buildings of municipal ownership and the improvement of energy efficiency,” explained the delegate, taking as an example the municipality of Pontenova, “to which more than 300,000 euros were awarded to condition the municipal offices and reduce energy consumption by 35% with the commitment to energy efficiency.”
Pedro Blanco and the deputy delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, held a meeting with the mayor, Darío Campos, after which they announced the tender of the project beneficiary of the first line of the PIREP for the House of the City Council. “Thanks to the joint work of municipalities and government, we are making progress in the implementation of actions that have a positive effect on citizens, with a view to reducing consumption and environmental sustainability or the accessibility of buildings.” In this regard, he recalled that these projects “contribute to modernizing the municipalities of Galician towns and #city by adapting the provision of municipal services, but also help to social and cultural dynamization, since many of the selected projects will rehabilitate markets, sports centers, social centers, houses of culture, auditoriums or schools.”
