The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the government’s commitment to the sustainable transformation of municipalities by supporting projects promoted from local entities to improve the quality of life of citizens, as is the new coastal path that will link the Salinas de Ulló with the place called A Cancela do Lobo, in Vilaboa. This action will have an investment of more than 300,000 euros from the Ministry of Ecological Transition through the General Directorate of Coasts and Sea.
Together with the mayor, César Poza, Pedro Blanco visited the area of the Ría de Vigo where the two new stretches of the coastal path will be built, which will greatly expand the itinerary already existing in the Salinas de Ulló. The delegate explained that the unblocking of this action “very demanded by the City Council manifests the disposition that this Government always shows before any initiative that represents an improvement of life for the citizens of the Galician municipalities.”
“In this case,” he explained, “the new path will change the coastal profile of Vilaboa, moving towards a coastal itinerary that borders this territory, generating, at the same time, a new sustainable tourist resource that will attract visitors and economic dynamism to the municipality.”
The project is in the public exhibition phase and its implementation will be carried out minimizing environmental hobbies, since it is a protected space.
Mobility improvement
Pedro Blanco took advantage of the visit to Vilaboa to review with the mayor the projects and state investments that are undertaken in the municipality. Thus, he stressed that the construction of the level crossing at the intersection of the N-550 with the A-57 has been initiated by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda with the aim of promoting mobility between the neighborhoods of Carballal and O Toural. It is an investment of 400,000 euros that will allow the passage of agricultural vehicles, as well as the transit of pawns and cyclists through this point,” explained the delegate.
“These are facts that show that the Government of Pedro Sánchez is a government that listens, that meets the demands of the villages and their population, and that is committed to their well-being and to municipalism,” he said.
On the other hand, the delegate recalled the investment of almost 40,000 euros from the Ministry for Ecological Transition in the improvement of the energy efficiency of the house of the city council or the 25,500 transferred by the Ministry of Equality to Vilaboa since 2018 under the State Pact against Gender Violence.
