The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, congratulated on the police success of the agents of the A Coruña Command and the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard who participated in the clarification of the murder of Elisa Abruñedo, which occurred in the municipality of Cabanas 10 years ago.
The delegate, accompanied by the subdelegate in the province, María Rivas, moved to the Lonzas barracks, where he held a meeting with the civil guards who participated in the investigation to value “perseverance and tenacity” during these years that allowed the arrest of the alleged author of these terrible events.
During the meeting, in which the general head of the Civil Guard in Galicia, Miguel Ángel González, and head of the Command in A Coruña, Colonel Fernando Pedreira, participated, the delegate stressed that “after much work and effort” they managed to put an end to a very difficult case “that worried Galician society so much”.
In this regard, he stressed the importance of resolving this case for two reasons: on the one hand, to make it clear that investigations are never stopped and that criminals are always persecuted; and on the other, because it sends a message of tranquility to society that criminals end up in prison. For all of this, he referred to the agents as “a pride for Galicia, demonstrating the professionalism, dedication and dedication that characterizes the Civil Guard”.
