Ourense, October 20, 2023.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, encourages all "the youth of Ourense to participate in the new edition of the Constitution Contest". He did so during the presentation of the 39th edition of the Spanish Constitution Competition organized by the Subdelegation of the Government of Ourense, in commemoration of its 45th anniversary, in which the Secretary General of the Subdelegation, Manuel Arias, was also present.
Emilio González encouraged the educational centers of the province, both public and concerted, to participate in this contest that pursues "dissemination and knowledge, but above all, the promotion of standardized paradigms in the daily life of Western democracies" and therefore, he considered it important that in this new edition the participation is open to all the articles that make up the text and not only to a specific article as it happened in past editions.
In addition, the subdelegate stressed the need to open this traditional contest "to the new times and adapt it to the synergies of society" allowing that in the edition of 2023 youth social entities can also participate and that the works can be presented in audiovisual format. Format through a video in which participants engage and develop social actions that relate to different topics proposed in the constitutional text.
The competition will be open to young people from all levels of education: children and primary school, compulsory secondary school, baccalaureate, vocational training courses, university students and any group belonging to non-profit youth social or cultural entities in the province of Ourense. Emilio González recalls that the deadline for submission is open until 14 hours on November 10.
The subdelegate took advantage of the presentation to thank the institutional collaboration of the Diputación de Ourense and the Provincial Diputación with the development of the institutional award ceremony that will take place on December 6 in the Municipal Auditorium; as well as the participation of public and private sponsors that every year are involved and allow the competition to continue.
The works cover the entire institutional text and its articulation. The Government Subdelegation invites the participants to engage in social work or volunteering of any kind and to translate them into their projects and work.
What's new in the 39th edition
The novelties of this edition revolve around 4 axes:
1- The works are open to all the constitutional text
2- In addition to photographs, social actions can be carried out and transmitted in audiovisual format
3- Youth and cultural associations can participate
4- The prizes of the fourth section will be given in "cultural bonds" that can be consumed in the affiliated establishments of the province and in electronic material
Contest history
Since 1984, the Subdelegation of the Government of Ourense has been holding this annual school competition on the Spanish Constitution. It was born by the hand of D. Mariano Sanz Pech, Civil Governor of the province and creator of the contest that later continued. He is part of the subdelegation thanks to the good reception he has every year.
