The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, participated this morning in the opening ceremony of the new employment office and of the SEPE in the neighborhood of La Residencia, together with the mayor of Lugo, Lara Méndez, the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda, the conselleira of Promotion of Employment and Equality, Elena Rivo, the provincial director of the SEPE in the province and coordinator #territorial, Estefanía Pita, the provisional director of the SEPE in the province, Ana Mª Rodríguez in José InFernández.
The Government made an investment of 1,227,000 euros for the new SEPE office, making the free transfer of the land of the former School of Nursing in the neighborhood of La Residencia through the General Treasury of Social Security. This transfer made possible the conditioning of the building that will house both the employment offices of the Xunta de Galicia and those of the SEPE, integrating the latter two that are currently located in Campos Nuevos and Río Cabe Street.
The subdelegate, Isabel Rodríguez, stressed the importance of the two grants granted for this purpose for the transfer of each of the offices, with the aim of adapting and reforming the facilities of the city. “This funding makes it possible to have a new modern and efficient employment service center in Lugo, essential to the lives of citizens.”
As explained last week in a visit to the new facilities, the contribution of the Government guarantees a comfortable conditioning of the infrastructures, solving problems related to the inadequacy of the space, both for personnel and users of the service, air conditioning, furniture or the improvement of signage and security, among others.
Rodríguez asserted in his speech that “the commitment of the Government of the State with the improvement of infrastructures in the city and in the province is evident both in economic matters and when it comes to facilitating spaces for the implementation of improved services in a city that advances in parallel to the demands demanded by society.”
