The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, highlighted this skill the investment made by the Government of 1,227,000 euros, as well as the transfer of land from the facilities of the former School of Nursing that were ceded free of charge by the General Treasury of Social Security for the new office of the SEPE in the neighborhood of the Residence. The new office will integrate the two that are currently located on Campos Nuevos Street and Río Cabe.
The deputy delegate, Isabel Rodríguez, accompanied by the Councilor for Territorial Cohesion, Miguel Fernández; the provincial director of the SEPE in the province of A Coruña and territorial coordinator of the agency in Galicia, Estefanía Pita, and the director of the INSS in the province, Juan José Rodríguez, visited this space highlighting the importance of these two grants, granted separately for the transfer of each of the offices, with the aim of adapting and reforming the facilities of the city. The deputy delegate noted that “this grant allows us to have a new modern and efficient employment service center in Lugo, essential for the lives of citizens.”
With this contribution, a comfortable conditioning of the infrastructures is guaranteed, solving problems related to the inadequacy of the space, both for personnel and for users of the service, air conditioning, furniture or the improvement of signage and security, among others.
Essential Service
The State Public Employment Service is an autonomous agency attached to the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy. The SEPE, together with the Public Employment Services of the Autonomous Communities, carries out the procedures for unemployment benefits for 8,268 Lucenses currently, as well as the search for employment for the 12,190 unemployed people in the province.
