Ourense, September 13, 2023.- The Subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, went to the Concello de Sarreaus this morning. There he held a meeting with the mayor, Gumersindo Lamas, to monitor the state investments in this municipality and know their demands and opinions.
Emilio González put Sarreaus as an example of the Government’s commitment to small municipalities, "which are called to be protagonists of the transformation of Spain towards a green, digital, sustainable and cohesive country, to achieve the objectives of the demographic challenge"
Public lighting efficiency
In the same green transition line, the subdelegate included the aid granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Institute for Energy Diversification IDAE. This aid amounted to more than 250 thousand euros and with them the local government faced the energy improvement of the municipal lighting of this Concello.
The action, which is currently in its second phase, consists of the replacement of traditional type luminaires with LED type luminaires of greater performance and efficiency, along with the replacement of control panels.
High Speed Internet Coverage.
Emilio González also advanced the impact of the investments in digitalization that the Government is implementing, through the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, and that will also reach Sarreaus. This action is part of the UNICO-Broadband Program, within the Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
He detailed that the UNICO-Broadband Program will facilitate broadband connection with ultra-fast speed to 106 populated centers, which will cover a total of 371 real estate units of which 306 are homes, which in practice means the complete digitization of the municipal territory providing access with speeds of 300Mbs.
State Pact Against Gender Violence
Continuing with the aid received by the concello, Sarreaus is included in the Comprehensive Monitoring System of Victims of Gender Violence of the Ministry of the Interior for which it received 1,700 euros from the Funds of the State Pact against Gender Violence.
