The deputy delegate of the Government, María Rivas, went today to the town hall of A Pobra do Caramiñal to coordinate together with the mayor, José Carlos Vidal, the security device that will be deployed in the Nazareno Festivities, which will be held from September 15 to 18 .
The subdelegate took advantage of her visit to value the investments that, thanks to the Recovery Plan, the Government carried out in recent years in the municipality. Among them stands out the recovery project of the Ribeiriña coast, currently in execution and which has an investment of 800,000 euros. An action of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge that made possible the recovery of land in the public maritime domain, ceded at the time to the company of the Ounce of Gold and Hadassah and comprising 5,500 square meters.
In this same vein, Rivas also recalled the €402,068.39 invested by the Government in the environmental regeneration of the municipality’s coasts as well as the maintenance and regeneration of Areal Beach, with the aim of adapting them to climate change and improving them for public use.
The subdelegate also highlighted the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (Pirep) which, endowed with 1,355,911 euros, will allow to carry out the rehabilitation works of the IES teaching center of A Pobra do Caramiñal.
María Rivas also recalled the aid for energy efficiency, 554,027 euros that allowed the replacement of practically all the luminaire of the city council with the consequent savings in the funds of the municipal coffers.
The Government’s deputy delegate also wanted to assess the Government’s effort to bring broadband to the 124 homes and businesses of the Pobra, an action that had an investment of 31,111.78 euros within the UNICO Program of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
In addition, María Rivas highlighted the investment of 25,439.40 euros made by the Government in the State Pact against Gender Violence that aims to consolidate and advance in the eradication of gender violence.
Investments in the Barbanza region
The Government’s deputy delegate also took advantage of her visit to the Pobra to highlight the Government’s investments in the Barbanza region, which already exceed 34.4 million euros.
María Rivas stressed that the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, allocated 6.4 million euros to the region with the aim of moving towards a more sustainable and modern tourism and promoting the digitalization of the sector.
María Rivas recalled that the Community of Municipalities of Barbanza, of which the City Council of A Pobra do Caramiñal is part along with those of Boiro, Rianxo and Ribeira, obtained 976,800 euros within the ‘Experiential Translatio’ initiative. Ruta Mar de Arousa río Ulla’, aimed at digitizing and modernizing the local entities that are part of the Network of Intelligent Tourist Destinations of the Camino de Santiago to improve the attention and experience of the pilgrim on his journey.
The deputy delegate also recalled that work is currently being carried out to improve accessibility to the INSS building with the installation of a new elevator and that it also houses the municipal library. The investment exceeds 41,000 euros and is financed by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
In this same vein, María Rivas highlighted the 1.5 million euros granted to the Commonwealth for the development of its Tourism Sustainability Plan, which aims to strengthen the supply of active tourism through the region’s wine and wine supply. In this case, the plan contemplates the development of an immersive experience through augmented reality to show the transformation of the salting industry to the canning in the Barrio de los Catalanes.
The subdelegate also wanted to highlight the investments made in the City of Ribeira, amounting to a total of 4.1 million euros, to improve the safety and quality of life of the municipality. This investment is divided into 3.1 million euros from the Ministry of the Interior, which were allocated to the construction of a new police station to strengthen and guarantee security services, and 1 million euros from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda for sustainable mobility actions that favor the quality of life of the municipality.
Local Security Board
The deputy delegate of the Government, together with Mayor José Carlos Vidal, chaired the local security board to coordinate with the security forces and bodies the device that will be deployed during the celebration of the Nazarene Festival, which will be held from September 15 to 18 . The festivities will be supported by several patrols of the Civil Guard, the Civil Guard for Traffic and Maritime Rescue of the Civil Guard.
María Rivas stressed the collaboration of the Government’s subdelegation to help ensure that the festivities take place with maximum tranquility, ensuring that both the neighborhood and visitors can enjoy the holidays and the scheduled activities.
The festivities of the Pobra will also have a violet point in the Mayor Segundo Durán square in which information will be received on the resources available against any type of male violence and to which you can go to request help in case it had been necessary.
This year, emphasis will be placed on the crimes of abuse that occur under chemical submission to make young women aware of the importance of keeping their drinks under control. In this way, special caps will be distributed that can be glued to the glasses and detected so that someone manipulated the package.
