The government delegate, Pedro Blanco, visited today the City of Boiro to supervise the actions of the Government in the municipality together with the mayor, José Ramón Romero, and to value the impulse that the Government is giving to its transformation, with a contribution that exceeds 3.5 million euros.
After holding a meeting in the City Council, the government delegate and the Boirense councilor traveled to the Casa da Cultura de Boiro, in the park of A Cachada, which in the coming months will be subject to improvements that will allow to expand the capacity of the assembly hall to be able to receive a more attractive cultural offer and also to make it more accessible.
This will be possible thanks to the 1.5 million euros of the Government for an action amounting to 2.6 million euros, which will be completed by the City of Boiro, and which will also serve to integrate this space into its environment and improve its energy efficiency.
Along with this action, the mayor and the delegate reviewed other investments of the Government in the locality, such as the 237,642 euros in aid to local trade for the dynamization of the Open Commercial Center of Boiro, which included the reform of the municipal market, the ‘Festa do Comercio’ or digitization services for local merchants, among other measures.
A similar amount of 267,501 euros is the sum of the three grants received by the city council for energy efficiency and which allowed the improvement of lighting in several rural centers of the municipality, the renovation of the electrical energy transformation facilities of the sports facilities of Vista Alegre and the improvement of the energy efficiency of the lighting of different pavilions.
Museum of the preserve
They also highlighted the inclusion of Boiro in the Tourist Sustainability Plan Barbanza-Arousa Norte which, with an investment of 1.5 million euros, contemplates the creation of personalized routes and improvements in tourist infrastructures that, in the case of Boiro, will materialize in the creation of a museum dedicated to the preserve. Finally, Pedro Blanco highlighted the Government’s effort to bring broadband to all the municipalities of Galicia, an initiative that materializes through the UNIQUE Program of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and that in Boiro allows to provide high-speed Internet connection to about 700 homes and businesses that until now did not enjoy this service.
