The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today approached the Bululú Coruña bookstore to present the Cultural Voucher intended for young people and boys who turn 18 in 2023. A bonus of 400 euros that can be spent on different cultural products. The deadline for applying for this assistance is open from mid-June and can be applied for until next September 30 on the website. www.bonoculturajoven.gob.es
“This initiative represents an economic injection of almost 4 million euros for the cultural sector of the province, from which 9,751 Coruñesas and Coruñeses can benefit, favoring cultural consumption among the newest population and contributing to the recovery of a sector as important as the cultural industries,” said the deputy delegate. In addition, María Rivas stressed that this bond “dynamizes local businesses both in the cities and in smaller municipalities in the province”.
In the province there are 83 establishments adhered to, and on June 20, 5,400 young people and boys applied for this bonus. As for the requests of the previous calls, from October 2022 to May 2023 16,000 operations were carried out and 626,000 euros were spent.
The Cultural Voucher works exclusively in those companies, businesses and cultural entities that had previously applied for membership of the program. “The entire cultural fabric of the province, both public and private, was invited to join the program, from theaters, festivals and movie theaters, through museums, bookstores or music stores,” the deputy delegate reported. Until now, purchases in specialized stores were distributed, mainly, among movies, video games, shows and books.
María Rivas took the opportunity to encourage companies to join this program since precisely one of the objectives of the Cultural Bond is to support and revitalize the cultural sectors.
With today’s visit to this bookstore in the center of A Coruña, the subdelegate wanted to give visibility to this initiative. The Cultural Bond aims to generate the habit of consuming cultural products in young people so that, as adults, they integrate culture as part of their daily lives.
About the cultural bonus
From the granting of the aid, the beneficiaries have one year to use the 400 euros in cultural products or services in the affiliated establishments, which already exceed 3,000 throughout Spain.
The Cultural Voucher works with a prepaid card that beneficiaries can have in virtual format on their mobile device or in physical format that they will receive at home.
With this card you can enjoy cultural experiences and products, which are divided into three sections to favor diversification between the different cultural sectors, with the following distribution:
- 100 euros for physical products, for example books, press or discs
-100 euros for digital products: digital press, podcast, online video games
- 200 euros for performing arts: theater, opera, cinema, dance, museums.
