The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, presided today in Viveiro the Xunta of Security of the new edition of the Resurrection Fest festival, which will bring together more than 140,000 people in the Mariña Region to enjoy metal, punk and hardcore music. Isabel Rodríguez highlighted the maximum coordination between the Government, the City of Viveiro and the organization of the event to guarantee the safety of the attendees and asked the citizens prudence, to comply with the planned rules and, in this way, everything happens with total normality. “The Resu is already part of the essence of Viveiro and as such we must protect it so that it remains a reference in the safety of people and in their tranquility,” he added.
At the meeting held this morning at the Consistorial House, Isabel Rodríguez reported that a large special security device will be put in place for the celebration of the 18th edition of the musical event, with special attention to the movements that occur during the four days of the festival. Likewise, the predictions of the festival’s organization were discussed, with four stages located in Celeiro, and the places that may be more conflictive due to the possible crowding of people and vehicles. In addition, the work that will be carried out by the different security and emergency bodies to prevent incidents during the event was coordinated.
Thus, the Government’s deputy delegate explained that the Viveiro National Police will have reinforcements including members of the intervention units, who are experts in large events in which risk situations such as avalanches can occur, in addition to having the support of agents on horseback, canine guides and officials of the mobile brigade.
This year, the Resurrection Fest will be held on June 28, 29, 30 and July 1 and will feature more than 80 artists and groups, all dedicated to the rock, metal and punk genre, with headliners such as ‘Slipknot’, ‘Pantera’ or ‘Ghost’. In addition, there will be services such as rest areas, gampling, food stands or lockers for the convenience of the attendees.
In the Local Security Board participated the councilman, Jesús Fernández, promoters of the company organizing the event together with State Security Forces and Bodies.
