The Ministry of Culture and Sport, through the General Directorate of Books, Comics and Reading, launches a new edition of the Electives Affinities Program.
The initiative, launched in 2020, brings together the two authors who write in different languages of Spain in independent libraries to talk about their similarities, divergences and connections. These meetings will take place between June 29 and September 29 in twelve bookshops in the four Galician provinces. The first will be held in the Numax bookstore, in A Coruña, between the authors Berta Dávila and Marta Sanz.
It was these bookstores that proposed the participation of authors and authors, depending on their interested public, their fund and their line of programming activities.
A total of 24 creators will participate, who write in Spanish, in Galician and in Basque. Among the participating authors are Berta Dávila, Marta Sanz, Ismael Ramos, Beatriz Rodríguez Gregores, Nuria Tamarit, Manuel Astur or Anto Otero.
Plurality is also reflected in the diversity of literary genres: 15 authors of narrative, 7 of poetry and 2 of illustration.
The objectives are, on the one hand, to promote the activity in independent libraries and, on the other, to support literary creation in all the official languages of Spain, valuing the linguistic plurality of our country, promoting dialogue between the different languages and contributing to the dissemination of literature from different territories.
In addition to the activities in the Galician bookshops, in other autonomous communities Galician authors and authors will also participate with their works in the Galician language, as is the case of Emma of him Pilar Pedreira in Asturias, Séchu Sende in the Balearic Islands and Yolanda Castaño in León, among others.
