The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, reported today that the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) comes from implementing in the province of Lugo the system “Single District”, which allows users of the SEPE to request an appointment and be attended in any of the eleven benefit offices of the province, regardless of their domicile. Isabel Rodríguez said that this measure, which is part of the Plan of Av@nce and Transformation designed by this agency dependent on the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, will result in a better quality of the service provided by allowing Lucenses to face-to-face attention in the office that suits them best, avoiding unnecessary travel and obtaining, in this way, a better distribution of workloads and a lower delay.”

As indicated by the subdelegate, until now, each citizen was assigned an office depending on the district where he or she had his or her residence. With this new plan, users who wish to carry out procedures for benefits and subsidies managed by the SEPE can request an appointment in any of the offices of the province.

As always, every citizen can request an appointment, either through the Internet, on the Prior Appointment website (www.sepe.gob.es ), or by phone. If you do it online, the system shows you the appointments available in the offices, sorted according to the shortest time to get an appointment. You can also choose the proximity criterion, so that the system orders the appointments second the distance to the home, and you can choose the one that best suits any of the headquarters of the province.

Every day, at 9:00 am, new appointments are opened and the citizen has the option to get the one that interests him most. The agency provides physical care in the employment offices located in Lugo, Becerreá, Burela, Chantada, Mondoñedo, Monforte de Lemos, Ribadeo, Sarria, Vilalba and Viveiro.

In the process of requesting an appointment from both channels, it is especially important to remember that, for the application for benefits, prior registration as a job applicant is necessary before the Public Employment Service of the Autonomous Community.
