The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held a working meeting at the Official College of Psychology of Galicia, to make an assessment of the program of psychological guard duty in gender violence. The meeting was attended by the dean of the school, Rosa Álvarez, the coordinator and coordinator of the program, Fátima López and Rubén Villar, and the head of the Unit against Gender Violence of the subdelegation, Isabel Álvarez.
This programme, which has funds from the State Pact against Gender Violence, is a service available to women victims of this violence and allows them to have immediate counselling and psychological support at the time of the complaint, as long as they request it.
María Rivas stressed the importance of women victims of violence knowing that at the time of the complaint they have the right to have psychological assistance from a specialist. The subdelegate also recalled that it is the forces and bodies of the state that are empowered to put this resource into effect.
