The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña has presided this morning the Local Security Board in A Laracha together with Mayor José Manuel López.
During the session, the current situation of citizen security in the municipality was addressed. The official data provided by the Civil Guard show the good security indices presented by the City of A Laracha, with a ratio of 27.03 infractions per thousand inhabitants: 22 points lower than the Spanish average and 7 points lower than the Galician average.
During 2022, in the municipality the number of crimes of greater gravity and that are the ones that cause the greatest concern in the citizenship, has experienced a decrease of 7.69% compared to the previous year; while the percentage of clarification has increased by 5.8% thanks to the effort and police work.
However, the total number of offenses has experienced a slight upturn, caused by the old offenses (today minor offenses) that have meant 30 more offenses than in the previous year.
Among the most frequent crimes are small car thefts in the beach areas, theft of wallets and theft of less than 400 euros.
In the course of the Local Security Board, it has also been anticipated that the two current vacancies in the A Laracha post will be filled in the coming months.
Good Viogen system performance
María Rivas has taken advantage of this Local Security Board to highlight the good functioning of the system for the protection of victims of gender violence, Viogen. A system to which the municipality adhered in the year 2020 and in which there is currently a total of 21 municipalities integrated.
As far as the victim protection system is concerned, A Laracha also has the Institutional Coordination Table against Gender Violence. During the course of the Local Security Board, María Rivas highlighted the work of these tables as a fundamental tool to promote policies and actions for the early detection of cases of male violence and to provide a quick response to victims.
In addition, the subdelegate also emphasized the important role of these bureaux in raising awareness among citizens.
