The electoral census office of the INE has begun today the sending of the necessary documentation to be able to exercise the vote by mail to the people who have requested it For this reason, the subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas has visited this morning the offices of the electoral census, in the Provincial Delegation of the National Institute of Statistics to supervise the logistics set in motion for the municipal elections of 28M.
María Rivas has highlighted the work of the staff working in the offices of the electoral census in which, from today and until May 21, thousands of shipments will be made daily to the homes of those who have requested the vote by mail.
The documentation sent by the INE includes the ballot papers of all the parties that are presented in each of the 93 municipalities of the province, the census certificate, the voting envelope, the electoral table and an information sheet.
María Rivas recalls that people who decide to vote by mail can request until May 18 the Certificate of their registration in the corresponding Electoral Census. Obtaining this certificate is a prerequisite to be able to issue the vote by correspondence and can be requested, electronically through the web www.correos.es or in person at any post office. As for the deadline for depositing the vote, it ends on May 24.
The deputy delegate recalled that the human deployment carried out by the subdelegation in the province is crucial for the optimal development of the electoral process. From the logistical support necessary for the exercise of the vote to the transmission of data of participation and scrutiny on the day of the elections.
On May 28, 924,409 people are called to the polls in the province, of which 2,297 are foreign residents in some of the 93 municipalities of the province.
In terms of logistics, there will be 1,544 electoral tables distributed in 890 locations. The subdelegation is expected to mobilize 1,018 representatives of the Administration throughout the province, which, among other functions. They will be responsible for collecting data on participation and scrutiny.
A total of 2,390 officers will be mobilized with regard to the State security forces and bodies.
In addition, throughout that day, the Government’s subdelegation will have staff authorized to resolve any incident that may arise with the representatives, the municipalities, the constitution of the tables or the material, in collaboration with the Electoral Boards.
