The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, presided today a meeting in which the preparations for the celebration of the electoral day of May 28 were finalized, a meeting in which the secretary and vi-secretary general of the Subdelegation of the Government in Lugo participated. Rodríguez reviewed this morning the different tasks that will be undertaken during that day that includes checking the voting premises, the security of all phases of the process and the provision of material resources, passing through the transmission of official information on the opening and closing of tables, participation, scrutiny and transmission of the results.
The deputy delegate recalled that the human deployment carried out by the Subdelegation in the province is crucial for the optimal development of the electoral process. From the necessary logistical support for the exercise of the vote to the transmission of data of participation and scrutiny on the day of the elections.
In this regard, Isabel Rodríguez advanced that the representatives of the Administration will be part of a wide device of people who will mobilize that day to guarantee the exercise of the right to vote of the 270,274 Lucenses convened that Sunday to elect the councilors and councilors who will represent them to our municipalities.
Specifically, 406 people will act as representatives of the Administration and will verify the correct opening of the tables, resolve possible incidents and collect the data of the vote count when the tables are closed.
On the security of the election day, the subdelegate reported that 1,012 officers of the Civil Guard and the National Police will be in charge, with the support of the Local Police of Lugo, Viveiro, Ribadeo, Foz, Burela, Vilalba, Chantada, Guitiriz, Cervo, Sarria and Palas de Rei, as well as the Autonomous Police.
In the general elections of May 28, 270,274 people are called to vote in the province of Lugo, of which 269,101 are residents in the 67 municipalities and 1,173 reside abroad. Respecting the logistics prepared for the holding of the elections, in the province there will be a total of 401 electoral venues in which the 533 voting tables will be distributed.
