The delegate of the Government in Galicia, José Miñones, claimed this morning in Miño the unblocking of historical demands that the Government of Pedro Sánchez is committing to the infrastructures of Galicia, from which of the test investment of 5.7 million euros destined to the remodeling of the link of the AP9 and the N-651 in its passage through this city. The delegate went to the town to present the project of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, which is already in the drafting phase. The event also included the participation of the mayor, Manuel Vázquez Faraldo, and the attendance of the Government’s sub-delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas.
The new link will give more fluidity to traffic between the motorway that connects with Ferrol and the national road that connects Betanzos with Fene and will allow the removal of traffic through the urban center. “Today in Miño, with the Government of Pedro Sánchez, we improve the quality of life of neighbors by removing vehicle traffic through the town, reducing pollution and speeding up traffic,” said José Miñones.
In this regard, he deepened that the Government is protecting the quality of life of the neighborhood and moving towards cleaner, more efficient and more sustainable mobility with commitment, with facts and with investments.
The project is an improvement for road safety, connectivity and quality of life in the neighborhood. “That is the way and that is our commitment to this town,” said the delegate, who referred to the etymology of the name Miño, “to walk”, to point out that the Government will continue to walk step by step and firmly towards the modernization of infrastructures and the creation of opportunities in the municipalities of Galicia by the hand of mayors and mayors like Manuel Vázquez Faraldo.
Construction of two roundabouts
Since the link of the AP9 motorway in Miño does not allow all the movements between the AP-9 and N-651 roads, currently the traffic that wants to leave the motorway at this point and continue its journey on the N-651 road, is forced to transit through the center of the town of Miño. In order to solve this situation, avoid traffic passing through the interior of the population center of Miño and connect completely, for all traffic senses, the roads N-651 and AP-9, the link will be remodeled at kilometer 12 of the AP9-F, with an action that includes the execution of 2 new roundabouts:
- One on the N-651 road, which channels the traffic of this road and the road that comes from the urban center of Miño.
- And another near the current toll area, from which it will connect with this toll area and with the access branch to the beach of Miño.
As a result, the connectivity of the current Miño link will be improved so as to improve road safety and living conditions for residents in the urban core.
