Ourense, March 21, 2023.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government, Emilio González, highlights and celebrates the great reception that the Administration near you program has had in the province of Ourense, highlighting that we are the province with the highest number of attendees – 545 attendees – and procedures carried out. “Ourense is an example of know-how and puts the flag on the “importance of breaking the gap in the rural world to work on the demographic challenge”. Thus, he explained it this morning during the presentation of the program “The Administration near you” in the Concello de Riós.

The subdelegate highlighted one of the main objectives of the Government of Pedro Sánchez that is to bring the administration closer to the citizens and break the “digital divide”, especially in rural municipalities such as this concello with more than 1,400 inhabitants and where the average age of the population exceeds 60 years of age.

During the presentation, the Subdelegate of the Government was accompanied by the mayor of the town, Eva Barrio, who thanked the Government for its involvement with the rural and for presenting and attracting these programs to the municipalities of less than 8,000 inhabitants, which means “giving it the necessary relevance and taking care of it with facts”

The Subdelegation of Goberno will next week make visits to the last five concellos with a population of less than 5,000 inhabitants – A Teixeira and Larouco – and will make a second visit to those concellos who have requested it to be able to meet the demands of all its inhabitants – in this case it will visit Chandrexa de Queixa and Vilar de Barrio. Bringing the tools of digital administration closer to the neighbors who live in rural areas with the help of sub-delegation officials. In total, 81 municipalities with fewer than 8,000 inhabitants have benefited from the program in the province in recent months.

Emilio González explained that in the coming weeks, it will also be incorporated into the personal Social Security program as the SEPE is already carrying out after the agreement reached between the Ministry of Territorial Policy and the Ministries of Employment and Inclusion, on which both agencies depend in response to the initiative of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, to include more services to this new way of relating to citizens, and with the particularity of being services of the most demanded. “We want to have a direct relationship with the services of the Administration and in this way the neighbors of Riós will be able to communicate in a more agile and dynamic way being catalysts of this service without having to travel to the capital”

Administration near you

The Administration Near You is a program of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, in collaboration with the FEMP, framed in the policies of demographic challenge to advance in the elimination of the digital divide and social and territorial cohesion.

Ourense is at the head of the Spanish provinces in which the program is developed in the execution of electronic procedures, bringing the Administration closer to thousands of rural ourensanos that avoid moving to be able to carry out the procedures. A program that promotes the rural environment and progress through digitization and electronic procedures and highlights the Government’s involvement in the demographic challenge. To date, 414 certificates and 265 permanent Cl@ves have been managed.

Institutional Meeting with the Mayor

Subsequently, the Subdelegate of the Government visited the offices of the Concello and held an institutional meeting with the mayor of Riós, Eva Barrio, to transfer the aid of the Government in the field of energy efficiency – Riós has received in the last year € 40,143 in aid from the IDAE. He also took the opportunity to transfer the data referred to in the field of citizen security.
