The Digital Kit program, managed by Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, is already driving the digitization of 5,000 SMEs in the province of Pontevedra, which means more than 24 million euros from the Government’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. This has been advanced today by the government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, and the director general of Red.es, Alberto Martínez Lacambra, in a meeting with the board of directors of ANFACO-CECOPESCA promoted by the Consortium of the Free Zone of Vigo, in which they have been accompanied by the delegate of the Consortium, David Regades, and by the subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Maica Larriba
During the meeting, they recalled the support of the Digital Kit program may be requested until December 2024. The amounts of aid can be € 12,000, € 6,000 and € 2,000 depending on the number of employees that the company or self-employed has. In the meeting with ANFACO-CECOPESCA, there was talk of the addendum to the Recovery Plan that is being negotiated with Europe that would allow medium-sized companies between 50 and less than 250 employees to opt for the aid offered by this Program.
To date, this Program has awarded more than 14,000 digital bonds in Galicia, which means that around 65 million euros of the Recovery Plan have already reached Galician SMEs to implement basic digitization solutions.
The CEO of Red.es took advantage of the meeting to highlight other Red.es programs, such as those related to Artificial Intelligence and possible future calls.
For his part, the government delegate stressed that “the Government Recovery Plan already reaches Galicia and Pontevedra, with digitalization as one of the basic pillars for the promotion of our companies and strategic sectors.” José Miñones said that the Galician economic fabric can count on the government as “one of the main allies of companies” and encouraged them to go “hand in hand” to take advantage of “the historic opportunity of the Recovery Plan” and “not lose a single euro for Galicia”.
Office Accelerates SMEs in Cambados
Subsequently, the Director General of Red.es and the Deputy Delegate of the Government in Pontevedra went to the Centro Comarcal do Salnés, in Cambados, where the Provincial Council of Pontevedra will open an Acelera Sme office. There they presented this initiative to entrepreneurs and businesswomen of the region together with the president of the Provincial Council, Carmela Silva, and the mayor of Cambados, Samuel Lago.
Accelerating SMEs is a program that seeks to help companies, SMEs and autonomous and entrepreneurial people in their digital transformation and, with it, promote the transformation of the economy and society towards a digital environment. Red.es works on the deployment of these offices throughout the territory
The support takes the form of aid received by institutions and agencies to promote these offices in their territories. The Provincial Council of Pontevedra was one of the entities selected in the last call for grants for the creation of these offices. Thanks to this help, it is offering free support and advice, both physically and digitally, to small and medium-sized enterprises in the province in the field of digital transformation. They also carry out awareness-raising and support activities in this area.
