The government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, highlighted today in Sanxenxo the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the improvement of municipal services, with 1.5 million euros to rehabilitate the municipal auditorium Emilia Pardo Bazán through the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP). “The Government’s commitment to Sanxenxo and O Salnés is indisputable,” stressed José Miñones, who added the improvement of the auditorium to the list of state investments in this city, “and that in four years they exceed 10 million euros” of funds from the State budgets and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
José Miñones was in Sanxenxo today, where he oversaw the Pazo reform project Emilia Pardo Bazán with the mayor of Sanxenxo, Telmo Martín, and the deputy delegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Maica Larriba. The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda selected the reform of this building in the recent resolution of Line 1 of the Local PIREP, the aid program for the rehabilitation of public heritage that is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
The delegate recalled that this first resolution granted 27.3 million euros to Galician municipalities and deputations for the rehabilitation of 36 public buildings of its ownership. He also added that, throughout this quarter, the Ministry will resolve the concession of Line 2 of the Local PIREP, which will allow municipalities to continue advancing in the improvement of public buildings and which will mobilize 350 million euros throughout Spain.
Auditorium building improvement
The delegate, the mayor and the subdelegate visited the facilities of the Pazo de Emilia Pardo Bazán, which will be substantially improved with this action, turning this space into an efficient, accessible and technological building. Among the projected works are the improvement of the lighting, the remodeling of the patio of armchairs, the new air conditioning of the space, complete replacement of the roof and technological improvements.
The Pazo de Emilia Pardo Bazán is the public equipment with more departments related to the culture and education of the municipality, housing the Library, the School of Municipal Music, the Municipal Music Band, the Art Center, the area of Sociocultural Animation, Adult Education and the department of Labor Orientation. In addition to the function room, the building has multipurpose rooms for the development of different activities and a rehearsal room.
Government investments in Sanxenxo
The delegate highlighted the investments and commitments of the Government with Sanxenxo, from which the residents of this municipality directly benefit. Among the most important, the improvement of sanitation and water purification, implemented by the company Acuaes and which will benefit the municipalities of Sanxenxo and Poio with a global investment of 19 million euros.
“We are also supporting key sectors for the municipality such as tourism,” said the delegate, who noted that Sanxenxo benefits from two government programs. On the one hand, the aid of 2 million euros granted by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism for the Tourist Sustainability Plan in Destination “Sanxenxo 365 days” and, indirectly, the Tourist Sustainability Plan of the Community of O Salnés, which received 2.1 million for the valuation of the roads to Santiago. On the other hand, together with O Grove, Sanxenxo also receives 1.5 million euros from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation for the development of the smart tourism poles program.
These investments are joined by those financed by the Government of Spain and executed by other administrations, such as the Diputación de Pontevedra or the Xunta, also in the city of Sanxenxo. More than one million euros are distributed in 774,000 euros for the construction of the pedestrian path that will connect Noalla and the beach of A Lanzada and that is executed by the Provincial Council, or 391,000 euros for the river path of Dorrón that develops the Ministry of Environment.
In digitization, the delegate said that the UNIQUE Plan of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation contemplates the high-speed internet connection to more than 1,500 families in Sanxenxo, advancing in the complete digitization of the territory of this municipality.
“As I say, they are works and projects that make a better Sanxenxo and improve the lives of neighbors. And I tell you that we are going to continue, because our commitment to O Salnés and Sanxenxo continues,” the delegate concluded.
