The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Maica Larriba, visited today, together with the mayor of Vilaboa, César Poza, the works of improvement of the N-554 undertaken by the General Directorate of State Roads, belonging to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. A series of actions that seek to improve the mobility and safety of pedestrians in the population centers of Cobres, Toural and Santradán.
As explained by the Deputy Delegate of the Government, this action aims to facilitate traffic on the current road, which crosses different urban centers, and guarantee the safety of pedestrians by expanding the sidewalks. In addition, the accessibility to the nucleus of Cobres, a place very busy by the local population due to the high concentration of services, is substantially improved.
In addition, the project improves mobility and pedestrian safety in the sections near the cemeteries of Vilaboa —in the Toural neighborhood— and Santo Adrán.
Maica Larriba valued "very positively the action, very demanded by the neighborhood, since it demonstrates the importance of coordinated work between the different Administrations and also reflects how is the current Government of Pedro Sánchez and a Government that meets and listens to the neighbors."
Visit to Cal Oven
After learning about the works to improve pedestrian safety and mobility in the municipality, the deputy delegate, invited by the mayor, visited the Forno de Cal, “a unique and magnificent sample of the important industrial heritage that our province holds”.
Maica Larriba valued the work of the municipal corporation and especially the mayor, César Poza, in the recovery of this patrimonial element, carried out under the auspices of the Local Action Group of the Fisheries Sector (GALP) Ría de Vigo-A Guarda with Feder Fondos.
Maica Larriba was convinced that “the project will become a new tourist attraction for Vilaboa and the whole region”.
