The Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosana Morillo, and the delegate of the Government in Galicia, José Miñones, made a visit today to the Concello de Cee in which they analyzed with the mayor, Margarita Lamela, the impact of the actions of the Government to promote sustainable tourism in A Costa da Morte and the new opportunities of transformation of the sector for local entities. The visit was also attended by the subdelegate in A Coruña, María Rivas, and included a meeting with representatives of hotel and tourism companies of the municipality. The Secretary of State and the delegate praised the very diversified and sustainable tourism offer of A Costa da Morte.
Rosana Morillo congratulated the mayor for the recent achievement of the ‘Starlight destination’ certificate for A Costa da Morte and for the success of the Xacobeo, of which Cee is a direct beneficiary for being part of the Way from Santiago to Fisterra, as well as for the celebration of the Marian Jubilee Year that will end on May 1 with the canonical coronation of the Virxe da Xunqueira.
He also encouraged her to attend the third call for Tourist Sustainability Plans in Destination, in which Galician local entities will have this year 21 million euros of the Recovery Plan to boost their tourism. The call is open from February 1st to March 6th. Rosana Morillo added that the ministry will soon open a new line of aid for the recovery of cultural heritage (BIC) for tourist use, with 208 million euros of endowment for the whole country. The Secretary of State stressed that the Government is investing as never before to transform the tourism sector and make it more modern, sustainable and competitive.
