Ourense, February 3, 2023.- The Subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, met this morning with the provincial board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in the province to transfer the collaboration of the Government and the Administration with the work carried out by the entity and showed his collaboration so that the association can carry out informative activities in the Subdelegation. In this way, he valued the action they carry out from the association to improve the lives of patients and their families.
At the meeting held at the facilities of the new provincial headquarters of the association in the city, the Subdelegate expressed his concern about the high number of cases in the province and the data presented yesterday (cancer is the second cause of death in the province of Ourense) by its president, Germán Rodríguez-Sáa and Olga Mojón.
The Deputy Delegate of the Government also conveyed the commitment of the central Government with the social entities through the aid to the third sector and the Recovery Plan, especially, with the battle against cancer considered a priority; as well as, the value of the tax reduction for those who collaborate in the cause, as announced yesterday by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, at the central event held at the headquarters of the association in Madrid.
Finally, the Subdelegate of the Government signed the book of visits of the entity reiterating the collaboration of the Subdelegation of the Government in those actions necessary to promote the project "because the fight against cancer is unha loita of all. Only the union of public institutions, associations, the private sector and citizens will lead us to win the battle against this disease.
Building lighting for International Cancer Day
Tomorrow, Saturday, February 4, the façade of the Government Subdelegation building, located in San Lázaro Park, will light up in green on the occasion of the International Day of the Fight against Cancer until 10 p.m.
