The government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, announced this afternoon in Forcarei (Pontevedra) an investment of 4 million euros for the conservation of the N-541 road. The delegate visited the municipality accompanied by the Secretary General of Territorial Coordination of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, Miryam Álvarez Páez, to present to the mayor, Verónica Pichel, the programs and investments of the Government. “Once again, we verify that the infrastructures of Galicia are a priority for the Government,” said José Miñones, and recalled that since 2019 the Government invested more than 552 million euros in Galicia for the maintenance and improvement of the road safety of the State Road Network, of which 191.5 million euros were destined for the state roads of the province of Pontevedra.
“The Government of Pedro Sánchez is making an historic effort to improve the road network of Pontevedra and Galicia,” said José Miñones. The delegate and the secretary general explained to the mayor the progress of the project and specified that the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) will act in the 17-kilometre stretch that crosses the entire municipality of Forcarei, between kilometre points 51 and 68. The work, which will improve the road’s firmness, is already under supervision and is expected to be tendered in this first half of the year. This commitment responds to the demand that the mayor had already transferred to the delegate on her first visit to the City Council.
In addition, the delegate corroborated the Government’s commitment to meet the demand of Forcarei City Council to improve road conditions at the Ventoxo crossing. He informed that a study order will be sent to draft the project later this year. This commitment also responds to the demands transferred by Verónica Pichel to José Miñones on his first institutional visit to Forcarei, attending to the requests of the neighbors and neighbors of the area, with whom the Concello always worked hand in hand.
During his visit to the City of Forcarei, the delegate in Galicia and the General Secretary of Territorial Coordination also transferred the usefulness of the program ‘The Administration Near You’, with which the Government has already reached 146 municipalities in Galicia since it was launched last November. This pilot initiative of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, which is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, aims to bring the General Administration of the State (AGE) closer to the territory and facilitate citizens living in rural areas access to public services without the need to move to other localities.
The Secretary General of Territorial Cooperation announced today that ‘The Administration near you’ of the Government will add the Social Security and the Public State Employment Service (SEPE) to the proceeds that bring the population of the small municipalities closer.
