The Government Delegation in Galicia has deactivated this morning in its Alert phase the Winter Road Plan in the State Road Network of the four Galician provinces, lowering the level adopted last Monday.
This measure is adopted before the notification of the State Meteorological Agency that terminates the yellow snowfall warning from today. The deactivation has already been notified to the agencies involved in road and traffic matters of the State (Road Demarcation, Civil Guard and Northwest Traffic Management Center), as well as to the other administrations.
The Government Delegation in Galicia, in accordance with the Coordination Protocol of Actions, has mobilized in these days all the resources available in Galicia to neutralize the effects caused by cold and snow on the roads. The fundamental objective has been to guarantee the maximum possible fluidity of traffic while keeping the transport infrastructures of State competence in conditions of use.
Among the resources available, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda has operational 103 snow removal machines, 21,000 tons of salt stored and 3,257,000 liters in brine tanks.
