The government delegate in Galicia, José Miñones, today claimed in O Rosal the impact of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government in the small municipalities of Galicia, with investments that allow them to advance in the green transition, digital connectivity and the modernization of trade and local tourism. José Miñones traveled today to O Rosal accompanied by the subdelegate of the Government in the province, Maica Larriba. There they supervised with the mayor, Ánxela Fernández, the projects that are financing and developing different ministries in this town and that represent an investment of more than 2.7 million euros, within the framework of the Recovery Plan.
José Miñones highlighted in O Rosal the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to the municipalities and the local administration, especially the least populated, which receive preferential attention in different calls for the Recovery Plan: “These municipalities are a fundamental axis of the Plan, and are essential to ensure that these funds reach the citizens and are executed in full.”
One of the programs with the greatest impact is the DUS-5000, which is managed by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and in which the City of O Rosal reached two grants worth 2.5 million euros. The most important will allow the renewal of all the light points of the public lighting of O Rosal, more than 2,800 luminaires that will change to the LED technology. Along with this aid, the DUS-5000 programme finances the rehabilitation of the Plaza de O Calvario, which is already completed, so that the Government assumes 1.05 million euros of the total cost of the project.
In addition, O Rosal receives 389,531 euros from the local Public Buildings Rehabilitation Promotion Program (PIREP), managed by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. This money will allow you to face the integral reform of the old unitary school of Tabagón, to host new educational activities in the rural of this town hall.
The delegate also reviewed with the mayor the situation of the projects in which the Government and the City of O Rosal collaborate, such as the extension of broadband Internet access. Thus, the two already resolved calls for proposals of the UN-Broadband Plan managed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation include projects in 189 areas of O Rosal, which will enable the ultra-fast internet connection to 362 families and companies that currently do not have this service.
Trade and tourism modernization
Finally, the delegate valued two programs from which the City of O Rosal benefits along with other municipalities in the province, and which are also financed by the Government Recovery Plan. In this case, through two calls from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade aimed at strengthening commercial activity and tourism sustainability.
In the trade, within the initiative “De tu mano”, managed by the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, for the modernization of the proximity trade. And, in tourism, through the PSTD ‘Geodestino Ría de Vigo and Baixo Miño. Despensa de Galicia’, which O Rosal leads with the 13 municipalities that make up this geodestination.
