The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, attended today the inauguration of Ecuextre 2025, the 16th edition of the Horse and Bull Fair, which from today and until next weekend will turn Badajoz into a national and international reference in the equestrian and bullfighting sectors.
In her speech, Quintana expressed her satisfaction for participating in an event that “represents the best of our culture: tradition, professionalism, identity and future”. He stressed that, during these days, IFEBA will help to show the great dynamism of the equine and bullfighting sectors in Extremadura.
The delegate stressed that “Extremadura is undoubtedly one of the regions with the greatest tradition and prestige in the breeding and conservation of native breeds of bravo and equine cattle.” He added that these animals not only constitute a cultural heritage that identifies and enriches us, but are also a fundamental engine for economic, tourist and social development in the rural areas of the region.
The government delegate also mentioned the international dimension of Ecuextre, which, thanks to its proximity to Portugal, acts as a bridge between two sister countries that share centuries of culture, livestock tradition and passion for the horse and the bull. The presence of breeders and Lusitanian entities in this edition reaffirms the Iberian and international character of the fair, where the border becomes a bond of union.
