The delegate of the Government of Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited yesterday Quintana de la Serena to officially inaugurate the works of rehabilitation of the city, an action that is part of the Plan to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP), an initiative of the Government of Spain that has invested in our region a total of 110 million euros in 77 projects.
During the event, Quintana stressed the importance of collaboration between administrations for the well-being of citizens. “This type of intervention not only improves public infrastructure, but also represents the commitment of all administrations to promote development and quality of life in our villages,” he said.
The delegate stressed that the PIREP, launched in 2022 with European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, seeks to maintain and improve public heritage, increase energy efficiency and collaborate economically with municipalities in actions that, in many cases, were essential to guarantee quality public services.
Specifically, in Extremadura, 77 projects have been approved with a total investment of 110 million euros. “It is a pride that, in the midst of a scenario where sometimes the necessary diffusion is not given, these actions are under way and benefiting our peoples,” added Quintana.
Today’s event also served to highlight that, in Quintana de la Serena, the Government of Spain has contributed more than 330,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the municipal building, joining the effort of the City Council for the improvement of its facilities. In addition, the adaptation of the Public College Virgen de Guadalupe will begin shortly, with an investment of more than 700,000 euros.
The delegate expressed his satisfaction for being able to see in first person how these investments impact on the daily lives of the neighbors. “From the Government of Spain, our commitment is to continue working day by day to improve the economy, public services and living conditions in all municipalities of Extremadura,” he said.
