The Government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, met today in Cáceres with representatives of the Federation of Small and Medium Construction Companies of Extremadura (Pymecon) to analyze the current situation of the sector and publicize future projects of the Government of Spain in the community.
During the meeting, Quintana highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Government and business organizations to address the challenges facing the construction sector in Extremadura. "It is essential to work together to boost the economic development of our region and ensure a prosperous future for small and medium-sized enterprises," said the delegate.
Among the issues discussed at the meeting, the needs of qualified labour that companies in the sector have been addressed, for which issues related to Dual Vocational Training and the possibilities of employment contracts at source have been analyzed.
Likewise, Quintana has announced actions related to high-speed projects, road network infrastructures, water purification projects, or investments that the Public Enterprise Land Entity (SEPES) is carrying out in the autonomous community.
The government delegate stressed the commitment of the Government of Spain to guarantee a public park of state housing that slows down the escalation of prices and ensures the affordability of housing. "Our goal is for all citizens to have access to a decent and affordable home," he said.
Currently, the public entity undertakes actions in Mérida, Cáceres and Plasencia to provide 330 protected homes to the public real estate park in these three cities of Extremadura.
The meeting ended with a mutual commitment to continue collaborating in the search for solutions that benefit both the construction sector and the citizens of Extremadura, ensuring sustainable and accessible economic development for all.
