The subdelegate of the Government in Cáceres, José Antonio García, co-chaired today with the mayor of Jarandilla de la Vera, Fermín Encabo, the Local Security Board in the City Hall, to establish the security device for “Los Escobazos”, declared this year by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism as a Festival of National Tourist Interest.
This feast is celebrated on the night of December 7-8 in honor of the Virgin of the Conception and hopes to gather more than 10,000 people.
The security device will be made up of about 13 citizen security agents of the Civil Guard, to which must be added 12 troops by the Traffic Subsector and four agents of the National Police. In addition, there will be civil protection volunteers, firefighters and health personnel.
The meeting was also attended by the lieutenant colonel, head of the Civil Guard Command of Cáceres, officers of the local Civil Guard post, Civil Traffic Guard, head of the Local Police and the councillor of Festejos.
