The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the 33rd edition of the Hunting and Fishing Fair where he highlighted the importance that the hunting sector and its activity has for regions such as Extremadura.
In his speech at FECIEX, he recalled that hunting is essential to preserve the health of nature, but also provides a relevant economic development factor for the areas in which it is practiced.
“The impact of hunting in rural areas, especially in sectors such as hotels and small local businesses, is a relevant economic factor because it acts directly in areas where economic stimuli are scarce and contribute very considerably in settling the population in the territory and fighting depopulation,” he said.
Quintana also wanted to transfer the support of the Government of Spain to the kinetic activities and gave as an example the National Strategy of Kinetic Management, a pioneering experience, fruit of the work and constructive collaboration of all the agents involved and the autonomous communities to achieve a sustainable and dynamic hunting of the rural world. “Therefore, our commitment is clear and forceful with hunting, with a sustainable, regulated and dynamic hunting of our peoples,” he said.
Finally, the government delegate wanted to highlight the work carried out by the Civil Guard in favor of hunting, fishing and legality, which has a specialized body such as SEPRONA, which has a very high rating among professionals in the sector.
