The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the region of Trujillo to learn about the evolution of the Diamond Foundry project, as well as other municipal actions in Torrecillas de la Tiesa and Aldeacentenera.
Quintana wanted to know in the field the state of the works of the project to produce synthetic diamonds for which the company has received aid from the Government of Spain of 81 million, through the line of Regional Incentives of the Ministry of Finance, as well as a sum of 120 million in the form of loans granted by the Fund to Support Productive Industrial Investment, promoted by the Ministry of Industry.
The Diamond Foundry project in Trujillo is the first that the company has installed in Europe to produce synthetic diamonds and includes a global investment of 675 million euros when the project is executed in its entirety. La fábrica elaborará componentes que se utilizarán principalmente en el sector del automóvil. The plant of the municipality of Cáceres will apply the diamond in the manufacture of semiconductors, a technology that increases its demand worldwide with applications in 5G communication networks and in the electric vehicle industry.
"Extremadura has been working for years to facilitate the conditions that allow projects of this type to be installed in Extremadura. President Guillermo Fernández Vara bet that this land would be at the forefront to lead a new reality. With the advance of projects such as Trujillo’s, many may now end up convinced that the future of Extremadura was not just a question of projects on mock-ups,” said the government delegate.
Quintana has recalled the work done in recent legislatures by the Junta de Extremadura, carrying out a broad legislative reform, with a modern administration that has turned the region into a pole of attraction for large investments.
Visit to Torrecillas de la Tiesa
After his visit to Trujillo, the government delegate has traveled to Torrecillas de la Tiesa where he has been interested in the works of improvements carried out in the headquarters of the Civil Guard of this town and which also serves the municipality of Aldeacentenera.
Quintana has highlighted the agreement made by the municipalities of both localities to pay for the improvements carried out in the quartering in order to improve the security conditions and improve the quality of life of its neighbors.
Finally, the government delegate has visited the Plaza de Toros of the town reformed by the funds of the Propha with an investment of more than 100,000 euros.
