The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the municipalities of San Pedro de Mérida and Calamonte to know the status of the actions of projects of the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (Pirep) for the Local Entities of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
In Extremadura, in particular, the Local PIREP Program allocates 8,479,750 euros from the Recovery Plan for a total of ten projects, with which an area of 8,045.52 square meters of public buildings will be rehabilitated. In the past, the Ministry of Housing notified the extension of the deadline for completion of the works.
In the case of the Extremadura community, four extensions of the deadline have been accepted. Specifically, three of them are in the province of Badajoz, in the municipalities of San Pedro de Mérida, Calamonte and Santa Amalia, and one in the province of Cáceres, in the municipality of Torrejoncillo.
Quintana has highlighted the importance of this program that aims to rehabilitate buildings of public use and ownership from a comprehensive vision of rehabilitation and for all types of public buildings. The objective is to enhance the role that the public administration must play, both in fulfilling the obligation of energy renovation of the public built park and in the quality of the actions carried out with the financing offered by the Recovery Plan.
In San Pedro de Mérida, the actions that are being carried out are the energy rehabilitation and reform of the interior of the town hall and the civic center with an investment of 825,000 euros. In the case of Calamonte, the project has a budget of 466,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the municipal building.
