The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, visited today the town of Almoharín where he held a meeting with its mayor Antonia Molina.
Quintana has highlighted the funds of the Agrarian Employment Promotion Program (formerly AEPSA) that the municipalities of the region receive each year through the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, as a guarantee for the small municipalities to develop their projects in order to promote initiatives that generate stable employment.
In this case, the delegate and the mayor have visited several facilities in the town made with these funds, specifically with the program of income guarantees, such as the Municipal Gym, the Pool Bar-Restaurant and the works that are being carried out in the Nursing Home. It should be remembered that in the last approved budget, Almoharín received a total of 150,000 euros to continue with the project for the creation of dependent public places attached to the Nursing Home.
Likewise, Quintana, accompanied by the lieutenant colonel, head of the Cáceres Command, Rafael Roldán, has visited the Civil Guard units and met the staff that composes it, where he has highlighted the low crime rates that the municipality presents.
On the same morning, the delegate took advantage of his visit to the town to get to know Regadhigos, a cooperative specialized in the production and transformation of its “star product” the fig, in addition to producing corn, tomatoes and olives. This cooperative is made up of about 400 members and employs more than 300 people a year.
