The average amount of the benefit is 410.63 euros per household and, overall, this month’s payroll has amounted to 11.77 million euros.
In the month of June, there are 6,308 active benefits more than there were a year ago, which means an increase of 37.9%. These households are home to 20,313 beneficiaries more than those registered in June 2023 (+41.57%).
In cumulative terms since June 2020, when this benefit was launched, in the midst of a pandemic, the IMV has reached 30,733 homes and protected the 90,757 people who are part of them; 38,607 of them are children and adolescents, 42.5% of the total.
Since the entry into force of this policy, Social Security has allocated 328.9 million euros to pay the payroll for IMV benefits in Extremadura.
Underage
The IMV is a benefit aimed at preventing the risk of poverty and social exclusion of people who live alone or are integrated into a coexistence unit and lack basic economic resources. In addition, one of its main objectives is to address child poverty.
72.9% of the living units receiving this benefit in June are households with minors (16,735). Among them, there are 3,949 single-parent households. If we look at the profile of the beneficiaries of the IMV, 45.3% are minors: 28.175.
If the statistics are disaggregated by means of access to the benefit, it is seen that the beneficiaries of the IMV-CAPI (Child Support Supplement) this month reach 9,510 households. This form of IMV involves an aid of 115 euros per household per month in the case of children from 0 to 3 years; 80.5 euros per month for each child between 3 and 6 years; and 57.5 euros per month for each child between 6 and 18 years. The average amount of the supplement this month has been 67.8 euros for each minor.
The beneficiaries of the IMV are also characterized by having a strong female profile. In June, 75% of headlines and 53.6% of beneficiaries in Extremadura are women.
On the other hand, 94.1% of the total number of holders are of Spanish nationality and their average age is 43 years.
