The government delegate in Extremadura, José Luis Quintana, has visited the region of La Vera today on the occasion of his attendance at the Carlos V Awards awarded each year by the European and Ibero-American Academy of Yuste Foundation. Today Thursday he took advantage of his stay to visit the paprika factory of José Luis Mateos, in Cuacos de Yuste, municipality where he has also had a meeting with mayors of municipalities of the verata region.
Quintana has highlighted the enormous agricultural and tourist potential that the region has today, both for its environmental value and for the patrimonial and cultural wealth of its municipalities. Likewise, it has influenced the possibilities offered by some of the most typical agricultural productions in the region, such as paprika and tobacco, or goat cheese obtained from extensive farms of this cattle in the foothills of the Sierra de Gredos.
The delegate has also highlighted the important effort made by some of the industries linked to agro-livestock production. In this regard, Quintana has recalled the support that the Government is providing to many of these companies.
Un ejemplo es la empresa José Luis Mateos S.L., que ha recibido de ayudas directas del Gobierno de España en proyectos de I+D+i y del Kit Digital y dos préstamos ICO. In addition, it has also received from the Next Generation Funds (through the Junta de Extremadura) for investments aimed at the transformation and marketing of agricultural products.
