Madrid, May 11, 2023 (Mitma).
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, through the General Directorate of Housing and Land, has signed an agreement with the Junta de Extremadura and the City of Badajoz for the rehabilitation of 101 homes of the residential environment of rehabilitation programmed ‘Casco Antiguo’, in the municipality of Pacense. Of the 2.4 euros to be used in this project, Mitma will contribute 1.6 million euros from NextGenerationEU funds within the framework of the Transformation and Resilience Recovery Plan (PRTR).
For these actions, the Junta de Extremadura will directly grant the aid to the City of Badajoz, by virtue of an agreement signed between both institutions, due to concurring reasons of social and economic interest that hinder its public convocation. Rehabilitation office services will be provided by the local entity itself.
The aid will be granted to the owners of the homes through a simple call in competition published by the city council, which will also provide the services of the rehabilitation office and will tender the actions of urban regeneration through the corresponding public procurement procedure.
This agreement is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan’s Neighborhood Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program, which provides for the transfer of up to 2.97 billion euros to autonomous communities and cities in three annuities to finance this type of intervention in homes, residential buildings and neighborhoods.
