The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presented the security operation deployed by the National Police in the city of Valencia on the occasion of the Christmas holidays. The device that will be developed until January 6, will be composed, according to Bernabé, by 2,000 National Police officers. This facility will pay particular attention to the commercial areas with the highest influx and transport infrastructures. The delegate explained that “an operational reinforcement of 500 troops will be launched, which will be added to the usual troops. A total of 2,000 troops who are going to be working these days in the streets of València”. In addition, as he added, “there will be fixed points in the spaces where there is special agglomeration to attend to the citizens, but also to have a deterrent effect”.
The delegate thanked the Association of Merchants of the Historical Center of València and Confescomerç “for their work of collaboration, information and crime prevention together with the Citizen Participation area of the National Police”. During these days, within the framework of the Secure Trade campaign, a guide will be distributed “to inform citizens of how to act in the face of possible cases of theft or scams that may occur”, as explained the delegate.
Bernabé recalled that “despite the fact that crime levels in the city of Valencia have fallen in practically all parameters, those that increase are those related to cybercrime, to which we must be attentive”. València – added the delegate – “is one of the safest cities in the country thanks to the fact that the staff of the National Police is at record highs, it is completed to 94%”. “There are more officers than ever on the street who are working and in this Christmas season, where everyone goes out to the streets to buy and to go to shops, the coordination between the National Police, the merchants and, above all, the service to the citizens, will be total.”
