The Government Delegation in the C.Valenciana claims the fight against gender violence and against any violence exercised on women

The Government Delegation in the Valencian Community organizes and participates in about fifteen events on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is celebrated on the 25th.

Today, in the North Station of Valencia, within the program Open Station from Adif, the Coordination Unit against violence against women has organized the exhibition Image and word to create awareness. This sample consists of a selection of campaigns promoted by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence (DGVG) of the Ministry of Equality, from 2006 to the present, in which the different forms of violence against women are addressed. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, who highlighted “the firm commitment of the Government in the eradication of violence against women for the mere fact of being women and the fight against all kinds of negationism”. Barnabas stressed that “we are living in a situation that was practically unthinkable a decade ago: today, this violence is openly denied even by those who are holding large palaces, important positions in the institutions.” Therefore, he has appealed “to the responsibility of the institutional positions of this community to join the struggle of the Government of Spain against gender violence.”

Actions of the Government on the occasion of 25N

The central act of the 25N commemorative activities has been the awarding of the distinctions Meninas 2024 and Meninas 2025, I know celebrated on the 19th, Chaired by Bernabé, together with the Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant. With these awards, people and entities have been distinguished for their fight against gender violence, even in extreme situations such as those of the dana, and in defense of equality.

On the 24th, the commemorative banners of the 25N will be displayed on the facade of the Government Delegation and the institutional event will be held Empty Chairs In memory of the women and minors killed during this year, victims of gender violence. In addition, on the same day, a Violeta Point will be inaugurated in the Antoni Asunción Penitentiary Center and Torre Espioca Social Insertion Center. Already in December, the prizes will be awarded to boys and girls of the Christmas Postcard Contest in collaboration with the Associations of Women Victims of Gender Violence.

For its part, in the Subdelegation of Alicante the headquarters will be illuminated with violet color and, already on the 25th, an institutional act will be carried out. In Castellón, the headquarters of the Subdelegation has also been lit up in violet since the 17th and a minute’s silence will be kept for the victims and an institutional statement will be read on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

In addition to these events, training sessions have already been held on the VioGen system and its new functionalities, on the Protocol for Police Assessment and Management or to publicize some of the resources provided to women victims of gender violence by the various agencies of the General State Administration.
