- The delegate visits the works executed by the CHJ in Paiporta for an amount of more than 5M€
The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the mayor of Paiporta, Vicent Císcar, has visited the performances for the repair of the ravine of the Poyo as it passes through the municipal term carried out by the Hydrographic Confederation of the Júcar dependent of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. These works, currently in execution, represent an investment of more than 5 million euros for Paiporta.
As explained by Bernabé, the work focuses on the implementation of walls and fence protections on the existing slopes according to the priorities established by the Construction Management. In addition, the collection of escollera is being carried out for the execution of the walls. The objective of these works is to ensure the stability of the margins, improving and expanding as much as possible the drainage capacity of the ravine.
The delegate stressed that the Government of Spain is allocating 46 million euros to the repair of the Poyo and tributaries. To these must be added, as announced by the delegate on October 22, the 5 million euros to increase the capacity of the channel in a section of the ravine that begins at the height of the New Bridge of Chiva and ends downstream of the urban section.
The work, said the delegate, “continues to progress at a good pace throughout the course of the river, from Chiva to its mouth, including also other tax ravines such as the Galician ravine or La Horteta.” The whole of the works extends along the municipal terms of Chiva, Torrent, Aldaia, Alaquás, Riba-Roja, Loriguilla, Cheste, Paiporta, Picanya, Massanassa and Catarroja.
