The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has visited the actions for the repair of damages in the Magro River and tributaries carried out by the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar (CHJ) dependent on the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. These works represent an investment of 44 million euros for l’Alcúdia and 16 other municipalities bordering the Magro River and tributaries such as Utiel, Requena, Buñol, Yatova, Macastre, Alborache, Turís, Montroi, Montserrat, Real, Llombai, Alfarp, Catadau, Carlet, Guadassuar and Algemesí.
In the specific case of l’Alcúdia, the defense work is being carried out to protect the urban nucleus, “with the installation of gabions on the banks of the river”, with a budget of 4 million euros.
The emergency work carried out on the Magro river consists mainly of the removal of obstructive elements, reinforcement of the river banks, as well as repair and reconstruction of the most damaged motas and walls during the dana, “with the aim of improving the protection of municipalities against future floods”.
After visiting the performances, the delegate pointed out that “in the face of the hoaxes launched by the PP, an image is worth more than any word and, above all, more than any fake”. Therefore, “before the hoaxes, the Government responds with the truth and with works.” The actions visited today “are an example of the commitment of the Government of Spain to reconstruction”. Bernabé has indicated that “as a delegate she will respond to every lie that questions the work and effort of the Government” that has already invested in the areas affected by the dana of the province of Valencia 8 billion euros. "These figures mean - as he recalled - that 9 out of every 10 euros that are being invested in the province are being allocated by the Government."
